The days will be longer; you can finally stop hibernating and reconnect with nature. Recent studies show this is a good idea. They have shown that merely a walk in the park can calm the mind while changing the way the brain works to improve mental health. According to science , people who spend time in parks cope better with stress , feel happier and have more self-esteem.
Recharge your mind and body with stunning views of wild nature, breathtaking waterfalls, majestic lakes and rivers, red rock landscapes, lavish forests, tall rocky spires and cliffs, to name a few. Amenities include a boat launch, showers, playground, and campground store.
The only Camping pitches that don’t have electric hook up is the Big Berries Camping Field, which is only open during the 6 weeks of the summer holidays. The main shower and toilet block at Golden Cap includes disabled access, washing up facilities, a laundry room, a freezer for ice blocks, chemical disposal and a recycling area.
We run a small, friendly, low-impact campsite in the beautiful village of North Gorley in the New Forest , near great local attractions such as the New Forest Water Park and surrounded by some lovely New Forest pubs, which afford wonderful walks, good food and fun. We have 16 pitches electric hook-up not available catering for tents or camper vans, but unfortunately we can’t allow caravans.
Please see Pricing for additions and more details. Please see our Good to know page for all important info and check out our Opening Dates in This campsite is about having fun in peaceful and tranquil surroundings and as such is unfortunately not for those who want to party or for large groups. However it is great for those who love the outdoors, meeting people and sitting around soaking up the New Forest aura.
We have direct access to the open forest and its wealth of walking and cycling tracks and have taken the liberty of pre preparing some walks for those wishing to visit any of the six pubs within walking distance, just ask and we will be more than happy to help Big smile. Being a Campsite in the New Forest the areas famous Horses, Donkeys and cattle are all around and there are normally some sauntering down the village road at the edge of the camping ground.
We genuinely love it here and we are sure you will as well!

In addition, there is a small selection of privately owned campsites throughout the National Park, but it’s my recommendation that you opt for the Camping In The Forest sites to experience the unique New Forest atmosphere first hand! The Camping In The Forest campsites are set in totally natural surroundings and it’s not uncommon to find yourself sharing a pitch with the New Forest ponies , or even the odd deer! Facilities and amenities do differ between the New Forest caravan parks and campsites, and it’s very important to note that not all sites have toilet and shower facilities.
In these cases a chemical toilet of some kind is required for you to be able to stay on the campsite. Also, only a few of the campsites have electrical hook-up options and not all sites permit dogs. Clicking through to any of the New Forest caravan park and campsite pages listed below will give you the precise details of that site. Given the relatively small size of the New Forest, all campsites are perfectly located for access onto the Open Forest itself and to all of the area’s main attractions.

All sites are reasonably level with ample room for slide-outs. Most of these are pull-thru sites. Surrounded by peaceful serenity, our park is a great place to set up camp with your children and grandchildren. Come stay with us and discover what family fun is all about. Are you one who marvels over the wondrous beauty of sunrises and sunsets?
If so, the splendor of both can be witnessed equally from all 30 sites. If you’re an early morning riser, we encourage you to grab your camera and quietly step outside to photograph Big Red as he sleepily rises above the tree line in the eastern sky. The swath of vibrant colors from his early morning stretch creates a breathtaking ambiance which is downright impressive.
Not an early riser? Not only does the thick layer of fallen pine needles serve as a relaxing cushion for tired feet but the swaying of the trees overhead act as a pleasing aromatic scent and is downright tantalizing.

I have recently returned from Cannock Chase and can only describe my stay as disappointing. We had two caravans and one tent. The welcome was great and were allowed to pick our own pitch. The facilities are good, however expect to have no WiFi signal and zero phone reception even if your phone is incredible. Overall my stay was enjoyable due to my family making it a good trip as any family would do, however This is where my disappointment comes in.
In our party of 12, 6 of them were children, ranging from 3 years old to It said no ball games on the website, however this practically meant any games in general and we were unable to play anything as a family. An hour of playing, staff who I wont name approached our group and rudely informed us that we should stop playing at once. Of course I agree that any unsociable behaviour should stop as everyone has paid to be there and are there for different holiday expectations, however, a couple of adults and children playing hide and seek would to me be a fantastic way of enjoying a family holiday in summer holidays!
The way our party was spoken to was as though we were actively going around caravans and stealing items from within it and shouting in peoples awnings to wake them up! Nobody likes being in a place where rowdy children are an issue, however I am sure a 3 year to a 15 year old playing hide and seek wont hurt anybody and sadly ruined a break. This was the first time the 3 year old child had ever played such a game and sadly was ruined by the rude staff member.
